Joy and Practice in Winter Ranch Life

Armed with a pocket full of jerky, I headed out to feed this morning.

Some bovines are more patient than others at -10° F and windy and I can’t say that I blame them.

When I hit frozen poop piles, sticks and rocks under the snow, and bounce all over, making the bales go off course, I keep reminding myself of what Sage said yesterday when we were talking about rolling out hay.

I said, “Daddy makes it look easy but it’s harder than it looks isn’t it?”

Sage said, “It’s not hard Mom, it’s just getting your coordination right. You just have to practice.”

She has rolled out a little hay too so she understands.

Well, I’m definitely getting practice in!😆

But what a wonderful perspective to carry through every new task or challenge we tackle right?
